Imagine enjoying the afternoon with your pup in a park with all things centered around your four-legged best friend?! Does this sound heavenly to you and only something you dream about while doing household chores or sitting behind your desk at work?

Our lives get so busy that we forget to take the time to go outdoors and spend quality time with our beloved dogs. We may open the door and let them out each day, but we are not taking the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with them.  According to https://animalwellnessmagazine.com our dogs need daily outdoor exercise and exposure to fresh air. Being outdoors and interacting with us helps reduce our pets’ boredom, anxiety, and depression… while the sunlight provides a great source of vitamin D.

Not only is the time spent outdoors good for our pets, but it’s much needed for our personal wellness. Studies have shown that getting outside with your dog has many health benefits. Time outdoors has been proven to boost immune systems, improve moods, aid in memory, provide vitamin D, and walking with our pets allows for much needed exercise for us.

We have the perfect way for you and your four-legged friend to reap all the benefits that we have just described! The Azalea Festival is proud to announce that we have partnered with paws4people to host Paws on Parade, the Official Dog Garden Paw-ty! This is a doggy-fun day in the park, complete with live music, a Canine Court Pageant, a puppy kissing booth, professional dog portraits, doggone good vendors and more! This festive event is held at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater… bring your family (including your four-legged, friendly, leashed family members) for a day filled with fun. Food, concessions (and alcohol) will be available.

Don’t forget to register your canine for the pageant!
