The Chefs’ Showcase is a seated culinary adventure consisting of a 5-course meal with fine wine pairings, light entertainment, high-end silent auction items, and a luxury vacation raffle. Notable chefs from our region (and beyond!) work together to prepare the dishes. This event sells out every year, so be sure to secure your tickets early!

Allergies

If you or anyone in your party has a critical food allergy, please notify the North Carolina Azalea Festival at least two weeks in advance. The deadline to inform Festival staff of any such allergies is January 17, 2026.

Table Sponsors/Festival Sponsor Check-In: 11:45am.

Individual Ticket Holder Check-In: 12:30pm.

Event Start: 1:00pm.

Anticipated Event End: 4:30pm.

Parking

Event parking will be available for purchase at the Hotel Ballast, street public parking spaces, and parking decks. The City of Wilmington offers ADA friendly parking spaces throughout downtown. Any rideshare transportation may drop off guests and participants at the Hotel Ballast main entrance. Click here for city parking information.

What To Bring

We ask that you bring a positive attitude, a smile, and good spirits to all of our events. For the Chefs’ Showcase, please bring an electronic device if you plan on participating in the Silent Auction or Vacation Raffle. These activities are both conducted on digital platforms. We also ask that guests bring a form of payment to purchase our exclusive Festival merchandise.

Accessibility

The Hotel Ballast offers ADA friendly entry to the venue space, and we ask all of our guests to use these entry ways as they need. To better accommodate your needs, we ask that any guests with special physical requirements reach out to the Festival office at least one week prior to the event via email at ticketoffice@ncazaleafestival.org.

Food & Drink

Outside food and beverage is not permitted at this event. Guests receive five courses throughout the event, including wine pairings. The Festival will provide a specialty welcome cocktail and a limited selection of beer at the concourse bar. Water will be available at each table for guests who do not wish to consume alcoholic beverages. 

We are able to accommodate certain dietary restrictions, such as vegetarian, pescatarian, shellfish, and nut allergies. Chefs may not be able to accommodate severe food allergies. Entertainment & Activities

Prior to the start of the event, we encourage guests to peruse the luxury Silent Auction display, located just outside the main venue space. Additionally, tickets for the Vacation Raffle will be available for purchase and the winner will be drawn during the event. Both the Silent Auction and the Vacation Raffle are available to the public and will close during the event. You do not need to be present at the event to win! We encourage guests to share these both with their friends and family. During the main event, each course will be introduced by the chef who created it, and guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the origins of the dish, the wine pairing, and the chefs themselves. 

Amenities & Services

The Hotel Ballast has restroom facilities available on-site inside the main venue space, and in the main lobby. Any items that are left on-site by guests will be returned to the Festival Ticket Office lost & found. Guests will need to come to the office to pick up their lost belongings. The Hotel Ballast offers free wifi for guests. Guests will receive wifi password in the pre-event email.

Weather Contingencies

This is a rain or shine event. In the case of severe inclement weather, the Festival will announce any and all event changes on social media.

Ticket Information

All ticket sales will be conducted through the Festival’s online ticketing system, Etix. A confirmation email and a pre-event email will be sent to ticket purchasers. Tickets include access to the Silent Auction & Vacation Raffle before the event, and access to all five courses, along with the individual wine pairings for each course. Seats will be assigned prior to the event. Tickets will not automatically be seated together unless purchased together.
