I had a wonderful weekend in Wilmington during the Martin Luther King Holiday. On Saturday, I attended the 2019 Azalea Festival Chef’s Showcase. It was a wonderful Saturday afternoon and a very successful event; thank you to all who came! I enjoyed tasting all of the delicious food that the talented chefs prepared. It was also so nice to see many festival volunteers and talk with everyone. Aside from all of the delicious food, the official art for the 2019 festival was revealed. The print is absolutely beautiful and perfectly captures the magnificence of the festival.
I spent Monday at the MLK Day parade in downtown Wilmington. Thank you to Mrs. Jean Lawler for bearing the cold with me and being the best driver around, we always have so much fun! The parade was a blast and even though it was chilly, I am happy to have had the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful event.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend Wilmington! I absolutely enjoyed my last few events as the 70th Azalea Festival princess and I am so excited to see who will take the crown in March. The pageant will be March 2nd at Kenan Auditorium at 7:30 PM. Hope to see you there!
