The 2016 North Carolina Azalea Festival Queen Anna Kooiman and her court are scheduled to bring some sparkle and smiles to our patients as they tour the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital and Rehabilitation Hospital on Thursday, April 7, at 1:45 p.m. The queen, court, celebrities and festival officials will tour the pediatric unit, pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, and NHRMC Rehabilitation Hospital’s “Easy Street,” where patients re-learn to perform daily functions after an injury or illness. A team of five therapy dogs and their handlers will also be available in the lobby to demonstrate how service animals help our patients. The event is not open to the public, but media is invited to attend.
