For the 2024 Azalea Festival Scholarship Pageant, Junior high school students from area high schools will compete in this annual Scholarship Pageant based on a private interview with judges, evening gown competition, and on-stage presentation. The winner is the recipient of the Beverly Anne Jurgensen Scholarship Award ($6,250 college scholarship), named after the beloved Past President of the North Carolina Azalea Festival. First through fourth runners up also receive college scholarships ($3,000-$1,000). The winner and four runners-up also are invited to be on the Azalea Festival Princess Court, attending multiple events Festival week (April 3-7, 2024) and throughout the year!
Contestants take part in a weekly enrichment program where they learn interview skills, presentation skills, and the impact in giving back to their communities.
Contestants will meet every Sunday afternoon January 7 through March 2, 2024.
