Cookies and Cupcakes!!

I had an absolutely amazing Sunday afternoon at the Children’s Tea on March 18th. The afternoon was filled with cookies, sea creatures, and smiles with special guest Princess Ariel and Princess Moana. I loved hanging out with all of the little girls and getting to make arts and crafts. I even got a glitter temporary tattoo with one of the other princesses. There were so many little girls who had extreme princess potential!

Along with arts and crafts, there was a silent auction and a mermaid tunnel that had perfect picture opportunities. Young volunteers dressed up as octopuses, mermaids, and other sea creatures to enhance the “Under the Sea” theme. Miss Wilmington’s Outstanding Teen, Andie Creech, even read Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet, Ariel and Moana sang for us, we got drawing lessons, and I said a few words. I enjoyed talking with some of the festival officers and I could not be more excited for the festivities to begin!

The afternoon was a dream come true for all of the little guests and it would not have been possible without the help of volunteers. Every Azalea Festival event would not be possible without the help of hard-working volunteers. This is all happening so fast so I am trying to savor every last amazing moment and take it all in. Hope to see you all at the festival!
