A message from the Azalea Princess McKinley Lanier…
“October was great! We started off the month with the first event for the 76th annual Azalea Festival. We had our first look at the 2023 Official Artwork by Ana Brown. The artwork is absolutely beautiful, get your Limited Edition Commemorative Print before they sell out. The Azalea Festival also has painted oyster shell necklaces for sale. You really must see them!
We had a blast at The NC Shrimp Festival Parade in Snead’s Ferry. I had the pleasure of meeting all the Shrimp Festival queens, along with many other area queens and the beautiful Miss North Carolina, Karolyn Martin. I even saw my parade buddies, the Sudan Dunn Clowns! I loved having small personal conversations with the people of Snead’s Ferry throughout the parade and enjoyed the festive shrimp hats people wore all day! After finishing up the parade I headed to Rose Hill for the North Carolina Poultry Jubilee Festival. I helped with the Bake Sale auction to raise money for the Poultry pageants scholarship fund and couldn’t finish my trip without fried chicken from the worlds largest frying pan!!! I also had the honor of representing my school on the homecoming court.
Stay tuned to see what November has in store for this Princess.”
