The course is an out and back through a portion of the Parade route on 3rd street starting and finishing in front of the Parade Reviewing Stand of the North Carolina Azalea Festival Parade.
- Start: 8:45am
- Location: Parade Grandstand at City Hall (102 North Third St. Wilmington, NC 28401)
MGC selects a different charity for the race to benefit each year.
Proceeds from the 2019 race benefited The Harrelson Center.
Approximately $15,000 was donated to this cause in 2019.
This year proceeds will benefit the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center
Proceeds from this event go directly to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, a part of the Duke Cancer Center. Established in 1937, The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center was one of the first brain tumor research and clinical programs in the United States. Since then, it has advanced to become one of the best pediatric and adult neuro-oncology programs in the world—leading the way in comprehensive care that combines research breakthroughs, clinical trials and the newest therapies. The center sees up to 900 new adult brain tumor patients and up to 75 new pediatric brain tumor patients per year from across the country and around the world.
