The Cape Fear Garden Club’s 2024 Azalea Garden Tour, featuring 10 beautiful, private gardens and Airlie Gardens, will be held April 5th through 7th in Wilmington, NC. The Tour kicks off at Cameron Art Museum, where the Ribbon Cutting and Queen’s Garden Party will begin on Friday, April 5th at 9:30 am, with Jeff Rivenbark of WWAY-TV as the emcee. The Garden Club’s famous homemade cookies and light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

Many gardens throughout the tour will feature floral displays and helpful decorating ideas for entertaining in outdoor spaces. The Cape Fear Garden Club has invited three local businesses — Paysage, Protocol, and Heda the Table – to share their creative talents as part of our “Tabletops and More” exhibits.

Plein air artists will be present in the gardens all weekend and their paintings will be available for purchase on Sunday, April 7th. The Azalea Ambassadors, young ladies and gentlemen from New Hanover County high schools, will meet and greet guests at each garden.

Johnson Nursery and Proven Winners® are graciously donating $1,500 worth of plants for a special Azalea Tour Raffle. Three lucky winners will select $500 in plants of their choice at Johnson Nursery in Willard, NC. Raffle tickets will be sold at the trolley stop at Harbor Way Gardens. Additional tour sponsors include the Stone Garden on Market Street.

Azalea Garden Tour tickets are ON SALE NOW at the Azalea Festival Ticket Office. Tickets are $50 and children under 12 are free. Proceeds from the Tour are returned to the local community each year, totaling over $1.4 million since 2003.

The Cape Fear Garden Club awards grants for beautification, conservation, and education to nonprofit organizations in New Hanover County each year. Two endowed scholarships are given to UNCW and Cape Fear Community College. A grant to the NC Audubon Society helps to maintain Battery Island bird sanctuary, located near the mouth of the Cape Fear River.
